The Korean Ambassador welcomed the delegation of the Medical School ceremonially

Dr. Kyudok Hong, Ambassador of The Republic of Korea to Hungary, hosted a formal lunch for the six-member delegation of the University of Pécs Medical School on 6 July. This was the first time that a delegation from a Hungarian university had received an invitation to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Hungary in Budapest. This gesture means the acknowledgement of the Medical School’s academic prestige and its dedicated work among Korean students.

The delegation consisted of four academic professionals and two Korean students: Dr. Dóra Reglődi, Vice-Dean for Science, Head of Department of Anatomy, Dr. Andrea Tamás, associate professor at the Department of Anatomy, Dr. Balázs Veres, associate professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Medical Chemistry, Dr. Gábor Horváth, senior lecturer at the Department of Anatomy and Department of Paediatrics, Head of Committee on International Affairs, Joori Park, Head of POTE Koreans and Yoonji Chung, Deputy Head of POTE Koreans, Head of POTE Koreans from next semester.

The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the guests during the formal lunch for their dedicated educational work and the faculty's special care towards Korean students. He also highlighted the significance of the administrative support, as the leadership of the Medical School continuously provides help for Korean students regarding handing out the copies of diplomas before the Graduation Ceremony.

The friendly meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss cooperation possibilities in the future, preparations for the upcoming Korean Culture Day, as well as scientific and cultural exchange programmes, which could further strengthen the relationship between the two countries in the field of higher education.
