The University of Pécs became the best university in Hungary in two categories

June 19, 2025

Quacquarelli Symonds based in London published its latest university rankings on June 19. The list comparing the world's best higher educational institutions also includes the University of Pécs. In 2023 its position was 801–850th, in 2024 it was 771–780th, but this year it has reached an even more prestigious position of 741–750th, and the University of Pécs also became the best in learning experience and international students categories.

The experts at Quacquarelli Symonds have been setting up the world's university rankings annually since 2004, in which they compare universities based on nine criteria. They examined data from nearly 8500 higher educational institutions this year, and when preparing the rankings, they found 1501 universities worthy of being included in the final list.

„It is definitely positive that the University of Pécs has improved its ranks in all criteria compared to last year examined by Quacquarelli Symonds. I am also pleased that we proved to be the strongest in Hungary in two categories that are particularly important to us,” – evaluated the results Professor Dr. Attila Miseta, Rector of the University of Pécs.

The University of Pécs has made significant progress in many areas compared to last year: in two different indicators measuring reputation, internationalization, and also in sustainability.
