New PhD Student Joins Our Institute – Meet Ece Çiçek

October 7, 2026

We are pleased to introduce Ece Çiçek, the newest PhD student to join our research community at the University of Pécs Medical School. Ece is a Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship holder pursuing her doctoral studies with a research focus on molecular oncology and circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA)-based biomarkers.

Her scientific interests focus on identifying molecular signatures associated with cancer and systemic inflammation, as well as integrating molecular and computational approaches in translational research.

At our Institute, Ece is currently working on the development and evaluation of cfDNA-based biomarker strategies, with the long-term aim of contributing to clinically relevant and minimally invasive approaches in oncology.

Her research interests closely align with our Institute’s translational research approach, which aims to bridge molecular and computational research with clinical applications and to support the development of innovative solutions that can ultimately benefit patients.

We wish Ece every success in her doctoral studies and research career at the University of Pécs, and we are delighted to welcome her to our Institute!
