Dr. Péter Than, chairman of the German Program Committee of the Pécs Medical School visited Kaiserslautern on July 18 on invitation of their partner “Ärzte für die Westpfalz” Association. He visited Westpfalz Clinic, met with professor dr. Karlheinz Seidl, head doctor of the hospital and the leaders of the board of directors, and also visited various departments of the institution.

Professor Than greeted the ten new students who will attend Pécs Medical School with the Rheinland Pfalzi scholarship program at the dinner arranged for the supporters of the scholarship and its awardees. The students also received the certificate about the scholarship at this event.

Professor Than has also met the Westpfalzi scholarship students who started their Pécs studies in 2023 and expanded cooperation with head doctors in close connection with the Pécs Medical School and the political representatives and sponsors responsible for the “Ärzte für die Westpfalz” Association, with whom he discussed future plans.

“I was once again able to observe the high quality education and healing work ongoing at the Westpfalz Clinic, the dedication of their colleagues and their loyalty to our faculty. Our abroad partner has evaluated the results of our cooperation very positively. I am sure that their efficient and dedicated work will make the scholarship program successful, strengthening the German language education at our faculty and its international reputation. Together with “Ärzte für die Westpfalz” Association, we believe that the successful training of students, helping to ensure the steady supply of doctors to the Westpfalz region and thereby supporting the creation of friendly and professional connections based on European values, our most important task” – summarised the experiences of the visit professor dr.
